My Exercise Philosophy

Although your interest will be achieving your goals in the here and now, my philosophy is that exercise is an investment in your future health.


  • Bone density
  • Stamina
  • Flexibility
  • Muscle tone/strength


All the above start to decline earlier than you think and anything you do now will help you continue to lead a healthy and active life in the future.




I caught the fitness bug nearly two decades ago and having seen the results that regular exercise could achieve (I lost over two stone in eight months), I wanted to help other people achieve the same.  Having worked in the secretarial field for over 20 years, I took a part time job at my local gym and started my studying there.  In 2005 redundancy presented me with the opportunity to raise those studies to the next level and after an intensive training course, I emerged with the necessary qualifications to embark on my career as a personal trainer.


My qualifications include:-


Premier Diploma in Personal Training & Sports Massage Therapy

Premier Certificate in Optimum Nutrition

Premier Diploma in Stress Management


I hold full public liability and professional indemnity insurance.  I am also a Menofitness qualified trainer specialising in pre, peri and post menopausal issues and have obtained a Certificate in Sports Nutrition with The Fitness Training Company and a Certificate in Nutrition & Weight Management with Teaching4Business. 


In April 2015 I qualified as a fully insured and licenced Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) with UK Athletics and lead a free community running group (So Let's Go Running - Gravesend).


Since qualifying I have worked with clients with a variety of goals and a variety of medical conditions.


I enjoy a good running challenge and have so far completed three marathons (including London twice), over 25 half marathons and various 10 mile/km races.  I'm a massive parkrun fan and run and/or volunteer at Shorne Woods parkrun as often as I can.  I'm also a regular volunteer and one of the Run Directors at Gravesend junior parkrun.


In recent years I've also taken up cycling and when the weather's not too cold, open water swimming and I regularly attend yoga classes.

My Style


My testimonials will demonstrate that you're not going to be working with a barking sergeant major type.  My style is rather to encourage and coax in a more gentle manner.
